Forio and surroundings

The Municipality of Forio is located to the West, it lies on hills at the foot of Epomeo and dominates the whole western side of the Island of Ischia. Where the temple once was, in the 60s, a spa park was built, the Poseidon Gardens. With its swimming pools at different temperatures, well-tended gardens and a private beach, it is the largest thermal park on the island of Ischia. Several restaurants, a cave of wine dug directly into the mountain, boutiques, newspaper kiosk and a bar allow you to spend pleasant time. The gardens with their beautiful flower beds invite you to go for walks. Panza is a fraction of Forio. This pretty town is much loved by German tourists and those who love peace and quiet. Its landscape is characterized by the volcanic crater of Campotese. Here there are great vineyards among which you can take beautiful walks and where you will find scattered here the many restaurants with the good wine of the island. The most important winery of the island of Ischia, the "D'Ambra Vini", has its headquarters in Panza and at this location it is also possible to visit a museum of the peasant culture of the island, the "Farmer's Museum". Not to be overlooked either the "Cantina di Pietra Torcia" which offers very fine wines.
