The historical - geographical region of Planargia extends to the northwestern part of Sardinia and covers an area of almost 300 sq. Km, between the basaltic plateau of Marghine to the east, the volcanic reliefs of the Montiferru to the south, the hills and meadows of Logudoro and the beautiful beaches, coves and cliffs of the Nurra to the north. It includes the municipalities of Bosa, Montresta, Modolo, Suni, Sagama, Tinnura, Flussio, Magomadas and Tresnuraghes, and is home to just over thirty thousand people who have the privilege of living in an extraordinary natural environment. The spectacular beauty of the Planargia is primarily due to its orographic shape, as well as to its nature and geological structure, or to the characteristic planar pattern of a series of gentle volcanic and sedimentary hills that degrade towards the coastal strip, and which it seems to derive, , the historical denomination of the same region. But what makes this territory truly unique is that in such a small geographic area almost all the characteristic ecosystems of the island, from the sea to the coastal, from the mountain to the river, are represented, with the only exception of the wetlands and sauces, which, moreover, characterize the nearby Sinis area, south of Planargia.
