Stintino and surroundings
Lying in the extreme north-western part of Sardinia, Stintino reaches out to Asinara, almost touching it. Right there, where he touches it, he shows his masterpiece, La Pelosa: limpid and very low backdrop for tens of meters, white and impalpable sand, dazzling and placid sea with all the shades of blue. Next to the 'older sister', there is the Pelosetta, enclosed by a small island dominated by an Aragonese tower (from 1578), symbol of the Pelosa. From a 'terrace' on the 'tropical' beach, two hundred meters high, you will enjoy a unique view of Piana island and unspoiled and wild Asinara National Park: Stintino is the nearest boarding point to visit it. Stintino territory is a strip of land between two seas. To the west the suggestive 'sea outside', with high and jagged coast alternating with coves of sand and pebbles: from Capo Falcone, a wild place also guarded by a Spanish tower (the highest of the Nurra) and overlooked by peregrine falcons and of the queen, up to Cala del Vapore, through Valle della Luna and Coscia di donna. To the east the 'inland sea', inside the gulf: low and sheltered coast that from Pelosa, passing through L'Ancora and the rocks of Punta Negra, reaches up to the white and round pebbles of the long coast of Le Saline and Ezzi Mannu. In between a natural oasis with ponds (Cesaraccio and Pilo), where they live red herons, egrets and kingfishers.
In the beginning Stintino was a fishing village, very similar to Cala d'Oliva on Asinara, a village of origin of the 45 Ligurian families, who founded it in 1885, when the Kingdom of Italy settled on the lazaretto and penal colony, 'evicting' the inhabitants. The town, Commune since 1988, rises in a tongue of land between two inlets - isthintìni means 'intestines' - the ports 'Vecchio' and 'Nuovo', where sailboats are moored in latin sailboats, of which Stintino is 'capital' . Since 1983 it has hosted a famous regatta. The history of the village is inextricably linked to fishing and tuna processing: you will relive it in the Tonnare museum, which stands in the 'Saline' tonnara, active until the seventies of the twentieth century. Once the main economic source, from 2016 it tells the Stintinese modus vivendi: you will make a path along the 'rooms' (the same ones that make up the networks for tuna), accompanied by original instruments and images. After the tonnara, here is tourism. At the beginning of the twentieth century, the village was a destination for illustrious families in Sassari, such as Berlinguer and Segni, in the 1960s the boom: there arose a myriad of tourist residences and hotels on the coast. The town, inhabited by thousands and 600 residents in the winter, is populated by tens of thousands of tourists in the summer. Fishing is the basis of the culinary tradition: octopus in garlic and stintinese, lobster soup, tuna bottarga, seafood and fresh fish, to be tasted in the restaurants of the streets of the village and the coast.

Posto meraviglioso, personale incredibile

Ottima posizione e animazione, pessime camere e scarsa pulizia.

Pulizia impeccabile. Ideale per le famiglie
