Diamante and surroundings
Located in the center of the Cedar Riviera, Diamante is nicknamed pearl of the Tyrrhenian. Diamond has one of the two islands of Calabria, the island of Cirella, a small island of evocative shape and wild flora where the backdrops are beautiful and reigns the silver Posidonia.
Diamond is also known as the town of murals, from the numerous paintings that can be admired by walking around the alleyways of the town. In fact, there are more than 150 works of art painted on the walls of the old town and of the Cirella hamlet, built in 1981 by painters and artists of international renown.
Poets, writers, journalists, historians and revolutionaries have left their signature or their turn on the walls of the city. Diamond is the largest outdoor museum in Italy and one of the largest in the world. The seaside village is characterized by the coastal tower and the neighboring church of the Immacolata, built in the 17th century thanks to the contribution of the most abundant citizens of the country, entirely covered with white marble outside and colored marbles inside (worked by skilled Neapolitan masters ).
