Santa Teresa Gallura and surroundings

The province of Olbia Temple, situated in the north eastern region of Sardinia, embodies the entire historical region of Gallura offering, with its 26 municipalities, many small and big features that enchant anyone who comes there for the first time, and they did to know this corner of Sardinia in the world. The crystal clear sea, with unique and spectacular highlights is undoubtedly the best-known business visit to this territory. The Costa Smeralda and the Maddalena archipelago but also the Paradise Coast, Santa Teresa Gallura, Budoni and San Teodoro are all pearls of a coastal environment characterized by impressive granite cliffs, beautiful coves, white sandy beaches and fine. Visitors can, however, be amazed by an interior landscape is still wild, dominated by granite massifs and rocks where the mistral wind, ever present and vital part of this microcosm, attributed bizarre shapes. Among the ravines and dense forests of oaks, holm oaks, junipers, guardians of rare endemic species and pathways from small streams pure and clear water, it is not difficult to see animals and valuable birds and now rare everywhere. This land, inhabited since prehistoric times, contains priceless archaeological treasures and still undervalued. Dolmen, Domus de Janas, Tombs of the Giants and Nuraghi are everywhere as well as traces of Roman settlements and prosperous Punic while fortresses and castles and churches bear witness to a turbulent but vital Middle Ages. Today the Province Olbia Tempio Sardinia is the area with the highest concentration of tourist facilities, many of them prominent in the international arena, has the first passengers of the Mediterranean port (Olbia) and a modern and functional airport (Costa Smeralda Olbia) first in Italy for private traffic. All coastal towns now possess marinas that make these shores, preferred by yachting enthusiasts. All of this has not diminished the importance of the traditional economy still linked to agricultural crops and livestock as well as the extraction and processing of granite sectors, exported around the world, and the collection and transformation of cork, which only in this area we are created artifacts of high artistic value
