Mattinata and surroundings
Mattinata is one of the most beautiful towns in the Gargano National Park, rich in history, spirituality and natural beauty. Located a few steps from the center of Mattinata and about a thousand meters from the sea, Hotel Apeneste is nestled between ancient olive trees and is the ideal choice for those seeking relaxation and tranquility. Its coast is characterized by high white and very rugged cliffs where there are hidden coves, renowned beaches such as Vignanotica and Baia dei Mergoli, and suggestive caves such as Bell Cave (bell shaped). Wonderful destinations accessible by motorboat with excursions organized by Hotel staff or in "solitary" hiring a dinghy in marina.
Another beautiful excursion is inland, both on foot and mountain biking, in the Gargano National Park, where you can choose between the intensity of the Umbrian Forest, the charm of the "cutini" or the free pastures of the podoliche herds, or "photographic hunting" to the many species of spontaneous orchids. Mattinata is also strategically positioned for day visits to important religious destinations such as San Giovanni Rotondo, Monte Angelo, the Pulsano Heroes or the ruins of the Abbey of Monte Sacro.
