Milan Surroundings
Milan has always been a rich and important city, home to major artists of all times and it has always offered a special assortment of churches, buildings and monuments. During the Renaissance, art and culture underwent a series of changes and the city of Milan in this period saw the birth of some of the most beautiful and important monuments of history; for example the Duomo, which is currently the third largest church in the world.
The Cathedral is made entirely of marble, with imposing statues, arches and columns. From the terrace of the cathedral there is a wonderful panoramic view of the entire city. The Santa Maria delle Grazie church, instead, was built between 1466 and 1490, only to be modified / restructured by Bramante. In the Refectory there is one of the most important paintings of Leonardo da Vinci: "L'Ultima Cena". Milan is studded with countless historic buildings, such as the Royal Palace, located south of Piazza Duomo. The Sforza Castle is one of the symbols of the city together with the Madonnina and Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. All this is only a small part of what you can see in Milan and is a valid reason for a visit to the city
