Tabiano Terme and its surroundings
Tabiano Terme, a hamlet of the municipality of Salsomaggiore Terme, is 4 km away. It is located between the pleasant hills of the Pre-Apennine emilian, about 160 meters above sea level, dominated by the Tabiano Castle, about 330 meters s / m, founded in XII Century by the Pallavicino and largely modified at the end of the nineteenth century to adapt it to the private residence of the Corazza Family. The healing virtues of its thermal waters were already known to the inhabitants of the small village in the 16th century, but it was only from 1841 where Maria Luigia, Grand Duke of Parma, widow of Napoleon I, inaugurated the "Stabilimento de 'Bagni" primp, which was used with scientific rigor for the treatment of numerous diseases of hospitality. For habitual frequenters who inextricably linked their own named Tabiano, emerges Giuseppe Verdi, who came from nearby Busseto with his wife, Giuseppina Strepponi, to "pass the waters", staying in that large hotel that would later took his name.
