Roseto and around
The "Lido delle Rose" (ancient name of Roseto, drawn by the enormous quantity and variety of roses and oleander trees that decorated the balconies and lanes of the city) is definitely a tourist attraction to visit, suitable for people of all ages.
The central promenade offers a long stretch of bike path for lovers of bikes. For all other sport, you just walk through the town to discover the many basketball courts, tennis, volleyball, beach volleyball and beach tennis revealing the dynamic soul of this town.
Those who love cultural tourism can not escape the charm of churches, historical libraries and museums that Roseto and the nearby ancient cities offer; cities rich in history and monuments, such as the pre-Roman Atri, a city of art among the oldest in Italy, or the medieval village of Civitella del Tronto.
Even the same town of Teramo, the provincial capital and bishop's see, is enhanced by majestic palaces, o Campli, in his important National Archaeological Museum preserves and exhibits precious finds from the proto-historic necropolis of nearby Campovalano.
Rocca Calascio, at almost 1,500 meters above sea level is the highest castle in Italy and among the highest in Europe, and one of the oldest towns in Abruzzo man, best remembered as the ruined castle in the film Ladyhawke. Quote deserves Castle, made famous in Italy and in the world by colorful and precious majolica made by his patients artisans.
A few kilometers away you can visit Pineto, ancient popular beach town for the Marine Protected Area Torre del Cerrano and its lush pine forest.
For lovers of religious tourism the Teramo province offers the chance to visit, at the foot of the Gran Sasso, the Shrine of St. Gabriel (reachable in 30 minutes), and Patron Saint of young people of Abruzzo.
