Quartu is one of the largest municipalities in Sardinia, its territory goes from the mountains to the sea and the natural landscape is very varied. Along the coast (26 kilometers of coastline) beaches of pure white sand (Poetto, Capitana) alternate with rocky and rugged stretches (Terra Mala, Is Mortorius, Cala Regina). On the mountainous side the landscape changes radically: the slopes of the mountains Seven Brothers are covered with woods, a natural habitat for golden eagles, deer, wild boar and kestrels. The Seven Brothers are a granite massif where time and wind have created real truly unique rock sculptures. The highest peak, Punta Serpeddì, reaches 1069 meters. The Molentargius lagoon, in the western suburbs of the city, is one of the most important wetlands in Europe, this area in fact houses a particularly varied and rich birdlife. The beautiful pink flamingos (sa genti arrubia = red people) have chosen to live and reproduce in this paradise. In the coastal area there are several points of cultural interest.
