The town of Vieste, in the Gargano falls entirely within the territory of the province of Foggia, Gargano is a rocky promontory jutting into the Adriatic Sea widely forming the characteristic spur of Italy. The relief has the structure of a compact mass that rises up to 1055 m of the units of Bald Mountain and 1014 m of Montenero, with its landscape features of karst terrain. Very important is the forests, which once covered the entire promontory of which today only 25,000 hectares.
