The ancient Casale, after more than three hundred years, has returned to its historic vocation of accommodation, thanks to a careful conservative and non-invasive restoration that has preserved all historical materials, terracotta, terracotta tiles, exposed beams, frescoes, coats of arms noblemen, fireplaces, with interventions inspired by green building and the use of natural materials, creating that relaxing and warm climate desired by the current owners, a couple of accountants who chose to leave the big city to create a corner of paradise to share with guests, to offer them the opportunity to spend a few days dedicated to mental and physical recharge.
The Antico Casale has spacious and comfortable accommodations, composed of a double bedroom, a living room with a double sofa bed and a kitchenette and a bathroom. Some rooms have a small garden and one with a terrace with a beautiful view of the lake. The accommodations have been furnished with great care, to create a warm and romantic atmosphere, with wrought-iron beds, some with four-poster beds, Tuscan embroidered linen fabrics, Persian rugs, crystal tables.
In 1700 the farmhouse was known as the Antica Osteria della Spelonca. The tradition of hospitality and hospitality above all with regard to food and refreshment boasts more than three centuries, and it is not a secondary detail; the ability to blend the extraordinary local culinary tradition, guaranteed by the goodness and genuineness of the raw materials, with the elegance of the service, is one of the strengths of the restaurant of the structure, which in the mid-eighteenth century took the name of Restaurant Antica Posta per Cortona 1745. The name can be easily explained, since Cortona is very close to the house; and the suggestion of the time does not remain only in the name but above all in the premises, in the ancient hall, in the vaulted ceilings and in the stone paving. On the menu, regional dishes and typical products such as Chianina beef, Montegualandro oil, truffles, salami from Umbria's norcinerie, royal perch and Trasimeno bean, a Slow Food presidium. For banquets and receptions in the summer the restaurant can count on a gazebo of about 200 square meters. On request, vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free cooking.
Like everything in this structure, from the farmhouse to the restaurant, the Spa is also housed in an ancient building, precisely in the ancient shop of the farrier of the Counts Ranieri di Sorbello, with an area of about 300 square meters. Here, too, the splendor of the exposed beams and original materials has been respected, while opting for a minimalist zen-cut furniture, to favor the quiet and inner harmony of the guests. Among the services available, an indoor heated pool, waterfalls for cervical massage, sauna, Scottish reaction shower, gym, hot tub, lounge with relaxation area and herbal tea room. Treatments range from oriental and western-inspired massages to beauty treatments.
