Palagiano

Palagiano is located 25 km from Taranto (Puglia) and extends over a placid and lush plain filled with citrus groves, vineyards and olive groves.
The town is nicknamed "Conca d'Oro" (the golden dell) for the abundant fertility of its soil. At 5 km from the sea, its 7 km long coastline is characterized by dunes and fine sand and is preceded for its entire length by a strip of land on which a luxuriant pine forest grows, and extends from Chiatona to Castellaneta Marina, counting among its trees the oldest in pine tree in Europe.
