Castelsardo and surroundings
Castelsardo is one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, located in the north of Sardinia, set on a promontory close to the sea; valleys and hills embrace the city, founded by the Genoese family of the Doria who called it Castelgenovese. With the conquest by the Aragonese, it was renamed Castellaragonese, and later became Castelsardo by the Savoy with Carlo Emanuele III in the eighteenth century.
