Human settlement in the territory of Opi has ancient origins as evidenced by the discovery of remains of a fortified center in the place where lies the village, by the many archaeological finds from the necropolis of Val Fondillo and the remains of a probable temple in town "houses" and "source of Lecina". Located in a beautiful natural amphitheater, surrounded by lush wooded mountains, Opi still preserves the ancient medieval village characteristics, unique for the position and appearance of great archaeological interest.
