Rome and surroundings

Although not exactly in the historical center of Rome, in the surroundings of the structure it is possible to visit the monumental complex of Santa Agnese: young Christian martyr killed at the beginning of the IV century AD during the persecutions of the emperor Diocletian.

The area has two Christian basilicas (IV and VII century AD), the catacombs with the tomb of the martyr and the stupendous mausoleum of Constance, daughter of the emperor Constantine, eager to be buried near the sepulcher of Agnese. Being a small parish, the complex can be visited from 9 to 12, and from 4 to 6 pm. Only the 4 large Christian basilicas of Rome are open continuously from morning to evening.
